This blog is going to be a little bit different from those that I have published in the past. These are stories from the news that I, myself, have found somewhat, screwed up.
This first story was brought to the attention by a friend of mine. I must sadly admit that I hadn't heard of this until this morning, even though it's been going on for months. Granted it's based out of Tennessee, and I rarely give 2 shits about what those people are thinking, that may be why this one flew under my radar.
In the town of Murfreesboro, Tenn. (pop. 100,000) there is a controversy over a new Mosque being built. Not just a Mosque though. It will also be a rec-center, school and daycare center. Much like the one proposed in New York. From all of the testimonies of those that oppose the building of the Center, 95% of the whack-jobs are against it due to opposing religious beliefs. The other 5% have perfectly rational arguments against the building site. It is being put up in, what used to be, a fully residential area. So, the intelligent 5% are worried about things like traffic and resale values of their home because they know dumbass rednecks don't want to live near a Mosque.
Many residents went to the Rutherford County court and tried to get them to overturn their decision to allow the building to go up. The Court announced that they can not, legally, stop the building proposal based on religious beliefs. So, in a last stitch effort, over the last 3 months, a group of "experts" which seemed to have gotten their credentials from a Cracker Jack box, put Islam under the microscope. Yes, they asked, "Is Islam a religion?" Of course it is you backwoods, sister banging morons. Do we all agree with their beliefs? No, but, it's still a religion. The courts came to their decision on Oct. 18, that yes, Islam is a religion. Really? That took you 3 freakin months to figure out? Congratulations to the Chancery Court for Rutherford County, for your next birthdays we'll take you to Chuck E' Cheese.
Now my second story, this one is a little bit more messed up. Sorry ladies, in case you didn't know, men can be dicks. not all of us but, a good majority.
My deepest sympathies go out to Meg Mclain. If you don't live in New Hampshire, you've probably never heard of her. She's a radio personality for a liberal radio show out of New Hampshire and a few days ago, our homeland security system let her down in a disgusting fashion.
Meg was on her way back home, flying out of Ft. Lauterdale airport in Florida. She was "randomly selected" for a full body screening. If you don't know what that is, it's where they strip you down to your underware and x-ray you. She put up a resistance and said, "no". Next thing she knew security was screaming, "Opt Out!!" and 12 Miami police officers with half of a dozen TSA agents were on her like a fat kid on an Easter Basket. She looked over to see "Large Marge" standing there wearing very stylish blue gloves.
After her cavity search she was thrown into a chair, handcuffed to it, questioned then eventually had her ticket ripped up in her face. All of the while she was wondering, "why me?" Good question Meg, and I'm going to answer it for you in 2 words. You're Gorgeous! By Western standards Meg is a solid 9-9 1/2 and maybe a 12 on the Clydesdale scale. At first she thought it may be because of her political views but, nope, it was her looks. I mean, how random is a search where you pick out the best looking girl in line to see in their underware?
Well, I hope this helped enlighten you to the type of country we're becoming. It's 1 thing to try to keep ourselves safe but, let's make sure our civil rights aren't being violated to accomplish this.
